Oh how the rumor mill goes...

Apparently the CARES group has finally realized that their arguments so far have fallen on deaf ears and are resorting to feeding on the voters' financial fears....

The other blog is crying wolf about all of the firings people are theorizing will happen at Monday nights meeting, and then bemoaning the cost of all those firings.

Chicken Little... the sky IS NOT FALLING...

1. Jim Robinson can be fired outright for a variety of reasons and the savings from not paying his salary will pay for any legal fees.

2. Steve Kelley and Mark Finch and any other employees will probably not be fired. Whoever is placed in charge; however, could reassign duties and allow them to work to the end of their contracts and see if they are capable of making the change. (I personally would want to make sure there was a close scrutiny on their actions.)

3. And if you like irony... those teachers and classified employees who have vilified the union for years might find their jobs protected by their contracts.

4. And I repeat myself.... as students return to the district, the money will come with them.

Do not let the CARES group deceive you... they are running scared and losing ground.

From the rumors it sounds like the school board is worried. If they are certain about their fate, why go for such a drastic measure now? As for cause, they obviously do not have that otherwise they would have used that tactic earlier. The teachers of course always have their contracts to rely upon. Even the bad ones, ones that would be fired outright in any other corporation for not doing their jobs. It is nearly impossible to fire a teacher and administrators are too weak to gather the necessary evidence to not renew a bad teacher.

I believe the Board has given Robinson a way out with the resignation. If he has not worked with the Board in good faith (which is not his style)the Board has no choice but to let him go.

The sooner the better.

I think that they (the Board) do have enough cause. They were just trying to give JR a respectable (resignation) way out, as any decent person or group would do. But I suspect that Robinson is still on his power trip and will force the hand of the board.

The timing of the recall should not play into the boards decion what so ever. That is a completely different situation.

Getting rid of Jim Robinson has distracted enough of the boards time. Get him out of here and let's start taking care of business, which of course is our students.
