Vindicated...

The wait is over and the results are in...

Mr. Wineteer and Mr. Alexander will remain on the Lebanon Schools Board and Ms. Shimmin and Mr. McUne find themselves able to feel confident in their ability to represent the community as they try to work forward from the problems left in the wake of Mr. Robinson's regime.

The Lebanon community has spoken with a two to one margin in favor of supporting the current board and the direction they have chosen to move. It is time for the CARES PAC to recognize that they do not speak for the community and this recall was nothing more than a true waste of taxpayer money. Political and legal bullying needs to stop.

It is time to put down the weapons and pick up the tools to start rebuilding our schools district and the community as a whole. Who will take the first step and start the conversation?

Perhaps Lebanon Truth and Reconciliation will 'out' herself. And spent the next year trying to enhance her Language Arts and Social Studies skills by writing a thesis on the true meaning of both 'Truth' and 'Reconciliation' as a start.
Call it 'staff development' and give her PDU's. Also, some sincere apologies (as defense) against her libelous activities towards a wide number of respected community members might help.
How about the Barish and McHill boards (the classic 3 hand puppets of Robinson) admitting to their culpability in creating boards which ignored obvious issues and problems (can you say '80%+ vote of no confidence) an establishing an environment which helped a rogue like Alexander come to power.
Perhaps if these earlier boards had actually held Robinson to some sort of standard, we would not be at this point...
But, to the future!
Empower teachers and students, parents and the public, administrator and secretaries, to run out schools.
Stop the petty bureaucracy/administration, who think they must approve/make/interfere with every decision, every inspiration, every moment.
Spent our time talking 'student learning', and don't worry so much about how best to discipline/punish these unruly teens at LHS...

I think it would be helpful if CARES would dissolve as a special group and join all the rest of us at the table working to improve education in Lebanon.

The CARES members may need some time to lick their wounds after this landslide defeat, but the voters have spoken. The more we can come together as the Lebanon Community caring about the education of our kids, the more we will move forward with the business of education.

I agree with you LP. We have cut the head of the snake off and now it's time to move forward.

If CARES really cared about education, they could start the healing process by paying the cost of the special election, and not add this burden to the school district.
