Historically, when a group in power finds itself losing ground and falling out of favor with the public there is a pattern of behavior that ensues: disinformation, intimidation of those in opposition, harassment of those in opposition and (if allowed to go that far) eventually physical attacks and destructive behaviors.
Apparently the CARES group's loss of influence over the community coupled with the strong sentiment in opposition has pushed them over the edge and they are no longer satisfied with intimidation and harassment tactics.
It has unraveled into the realm of property damage...and it is escalating.
At this point the weapon of choice is eggs.
Eggs may seem harmless enough when aimed at simple signs such as the No on the Recall signs, but when aimed at a board member's home, as they were last night, they become destructive messy goo that hardens and can cause expensive damage to paint jobs, wire screens and electrical wiring and boxes. Not to mention scaring little children who live in the home and placing the fear of what could come next into the spouses of our elected officials.
And... the force exposes the proximity of the assailants. They had to have been trespassing, which is illegal as well.
It sickens me to see the depth of the division in this community. Can't people see that they have allowed an educational philosophy to destroy a community, to pit neighbor against neighbor and friend against friend. If at any point in the last decade Mr. Robinson had genuinely cared about the community, he would have stopped everything and pulled everyone together and said, it is not worth the damage that is being done to keep forcing the issue. However, that is not what he said, what he said many years ago was, "if people don't like it, they can leave," and that has been his motto ever since.
This has gotten to the point where it is beyond ridiculous and at this point, I am half expecting some other blog to come up with a conversation about the ever honest and upright money reporting CARES group having budgeted properly and reported the egg budget to the secretary of state's office.
Listen carefully people.... Jim Robinson is not worth it.
This community is worth fighting for together, not against each other.

I agree the assault on anyone is a terrible tactic, that includes assaults on Mr. Robinson and Cares. I for one would like to see all sides removed and the district start with brand new people in most positions. This would mean a brand new school board, new superintendent, and new high school Principal. I also would like to see the major characters bared from taking these positions, which includes Mr. Yates. All these people have become so divisive that they would only bring more baggage to the district. Start with outsiders that have not been involved in the mess for the last five or six years. People that the community can trust not just part of the community. The constant attacks on the district office, school board, and teachers has only hurt the education of our students. They deserve better. Unfortunately, like the U.S. Congress, one side will always say "not my side, we are right" even though both are wrong.

It was Wineteer's house. Also at least one of the signs was attacekd with tomatoes as well as eggs.
About bringing in an outsider... can't you guys understand that bringing in an outsider would mean that the outsider would have to ask people like Steve Kelley and others (who either agree with Robinson or who only know how to do things Robinson's way) how we do things! You might as well keep Robinson!
Yates would be able to clean house because he knows what's wrong.
Maybe there are some people who would be unhappy, but they are the SAME GROUP that is going to be unhappy no matter what if Robinson goes!
Yates would cause the same problem that Mr. Robinson does, divide the community. A competent outsider does not mean outside the community nor should the head of the school ask how this community does things. The running of a district, school, or even classroom is not dependent upon the community. There are standards and practices that are seen as good and to allow a community to decide they don't won't to follow good practices is what a outsider can override. Also, outsiders on the school board would be seen as a clean start. Hopefully, the lack of animosity will allow the board members to work together rather than automatically divide into factions. No person currently involved in the district's problems should be part of a new group brought in to unite the community.
So interesting how the group that yells "illegal" without merit at Josh and Rick apparently contains supporters who DO illegal behavior, and immature illegal behavior at that.
Agree that Bo Yates did not deserve the actions taken and should be restored to AD position. However, bringing in new people is not always the best plan. Restructuring takes time, finding the best talent, meeting demands of educational guidelines, and pursuing what is best for Lebanon will allow us to fix the "broken" bridge between our community and school. Lets hope our business leaders get on board with this concept rather than pursue their special interst agenda.
There is not one shred of evidence that the CARES group had anything to do with the shameful attack on Wineteer's house. This is exactly the kind of speculation/accusation/behavior that the CARES group was formed to combat. You should be ashamed for doing so. No one accused you of stealing pro-recall signs even though it happened. Learn to be civil for crying out loud!
